For the love of the Alamo, contact your senators to vote against Obama's $825 billion "stimulus" package!
- The consensus is that it does no real good to the economy which will revive if left to the private sector, however it will leave crippling debt and socialism in its wake. See Thomas Sowell's article, "What Are They Buying?"
- The generations that will be shouldering this debt largely have never cast votes for any elected official. They have no representation in Congress, but the Senate's vote threatens the mortgaging of their future, or, to borrow a phrase from the Declaration of Independence, "imposing Taxes on us without our Consent."
- One word - tyranny. We must never be de-sensitized to it. See Definition 1
- Whatever they do, we won't forget it come time for re-election.
Also, when contacting your senators, try to invoke a little bit of your state's history. It adds eloquence and moral authority. I also like to quote parts of the Texas Declaration of Independence.
